I am an addict! No not drugs, not alcohol, ok maybe shopping...but really! I am a Twitter addict! I am constantly posting Tweets and conversing with my Tweeps! For those of you who know me you know I am addicted to the news. I used to have friends in the AP and now this is even better! Up to the minute news at my finger tips! The other great thing my two famous followers: McHammer and Sir Richard Beanson!

Milk

My recent trip to Southern California gave me the opportunity to see the movie Milk. Eager for its release and knowing Fresno would not be showing the movie I jumped at the opportunity to include it in my weekend getaway. Sean Penn's portrayal of Harvey Milk, The Mayor of Castro, was exceptional! As a student of History, I studied numerous documentaries pertaining to the gay rights movement and Harvey Milk being a key activist needed to have his story told.

This year Californian's voted on Prop 8 and by a narrow margin it passed. Therefore denying gay and lesbian couples the right to marry. This years proposition is reminiscent of the mid 70s Prop 6 that denied Gays housing and employment. The same fear tactics by Christian fundementalists such as Anita Bryants vocal opposition was used in the Prop 8 campaigns funded by the LDS. Who says History does not repeat itself!?

I am getting by with a little help from my friends! Amy Winehouse and Duffy are getting me through it! My closest friends and family are priceless.
